Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) serves 560,000 customers, encompassing most of Contra Costa County. The County is home to one of California’s most ethnically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse populations with one of the fastest growing work forces among Bay Area counties.
CCWD has an excellent opportunity for a new Director of the Operations and Maintenance Department. This department is supported by 177 FTE (more than half of the agency’s staff) who are responsible for the operations and maintenance of the District’s lands, facilities, and equipment involved in the supply, treatment, and distribution of water.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced water industry professional, highly motivated, and have exceptional strategic and leadership skills. Competitive candidates will have eight (8) years in water utility operations and maintenance, including three (3) years of significant public sector administrative and managerial experience. Training equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in civil engineering, business, or public administration is also required.
