The Insight Newsmagazine committee creates a quarterly publication that highlights the activities and professionals in the Southern California Chapter. The publication also covers important announcements, technical information, and APWA national news. In 2020, the Committee has converted Insight into a digital format using the same software platform used for the APWA Reporter magazine, providing both flip-book and responsive view versions.
Committee members share in the responsibilities of reporting, writing, editing and proof-reading. We meet quarterly(now via Zoom) to plan each issue and discuss major public works developments that may provide opportunities for information sharing that would be of interest to our members. Now with a circulation of several thousand, our magazine is a solid resource for the public works community in Southern California.
The committee members represent a diverse group of public works professionals including public and private, and engineers and administrators at all levels. Several of our committee veterans have served since 2009, and we regularly welcome new members to the Committee.
